The main activity of the Foundation is the Siedlisko with Natura project. It is an innovative development and research project realized by all the involved in the activities of the Earth Deposit Funds.

The aim of the project is to develop, examine and implement innovative technology for low-calted natural building materials of wood-borers (strawbale), fibrous hemp for ecological construction, meeting the requirements of EU Directive 2010/31 / EU Art. 9, concerning the construction of houses in the European Union after 2020. This research will be used to develop a research infrastructure for the testing of various building materials, the implementation of multi-dimensional 3D printing, environmental protection, ecological agriculture and cohesion society within the framework of the Habitat for Nature program. The foundations participating in the program have identified potential areas for the production of clay, straw and cannabis base materials.

We work with passionate people from all over Poland. The straw-clay materials used were excellent in single family housing. After conducting the necessary research they should check in the housing and utilities (social buildings, kindergartens, schools and office buildings with high energy standards). Noteworthy are also great opportunities to be aroused through natural technologies; Polish agriculture can produce besides straw also hemp fiber for other natural technologies. Food production and direct distribution creates a platform for healthy eating and the opportunity to procure organic food. The program aims to integrate communities and education through community forums. These entities can use the elaborations, solutions and examples created jointly with the coordinator of the Foundation for Sustainable Development Nature 2010 project, websites that inform about global trends. The project’s priority is to stimulate employment in suburban and rural areas and to promote the local market of natural products, to take care of the Cultural Heritage of the Region and the Natura 2000 Protected Areas, the protection of birds and breeding sites.

Actions taken

Apart from design activities, measures have been taken to consolidate the environment in the natural and environmental sectors that may be applicable in the project. The sites where the production of plants needed for natural construction has been implemented have been identified. The process of obtaining permits for the cultivation of industrial cannabis is being carried out on trades held by the Foundation. Design work continues on the shape and integration of every element of a self-sustaining ecological farm. Increased requirements for the energy performance of buildings resulting from Directive 2010/31 / EU of 19 May 2010 require the introduction of new green building technologies, both for the sub-components and for the construction of the building itself. Developed in the project to implement low-cost natural composites will build cost-competitive buildings of high environmental and energy standards, while stimulating the local labor market, including the unused agriculture in the construction industry. High-performance building materials on the market are characterized by low-energy construction but require specialized production lines, distribution, storage and transport systems, which affect their final unit price and significantly reduce environmental sustainability. Natural technologies use available resources in a short time, taking into account their optimal thermal and humidity properties, which are necessary for use in our climate zone. Pro-ecological technologies have enormous untapped potential in single- and multi-family housing, as well as in small and medium-sized utilities, where the cost of ownership is important.

What is permaculture?

Permaculture is based on the ethical foundation of a system of conscious design of self-sustaining and sustainable human settlements. The very word permaculture (in the original permaculture) came from the combination of the words permanent and agriculture or permanent and culture. The purpose of permaculture is to make a given estate / region / country / or even a more permanent world … More sustainable and inhabited by people in the long run. In addition, the foundations carry out conservation programs for birds and breeding sites in their area, as well as places of special natural value.
